The mission of the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry is to Support, Train and Resource adults accompanying youth and young adult Catholics as they encounter Jesus.

The Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry Offers:
- Parish/deanery consultations on youth ministry
- Biennial diocesan youth convention (DYC)
- Presentations on youth issues for teens, parents, etc.
- Annual Eagle of the Cross award liturgy and banquet
- Periodic training seminars and classes on youth ministry topics
- Youth ministry online training (YMSC/OT) courses
- YM e-updates (Electronic News for Youth Ministers)
- “Youngstown Youth Ministers” Facebook group/page
- Cosponsors new parish minister orientation series
- Connections to state, regional, national and international events for youth and those who minister with them, such as the Biennial National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry (NCCYM/Adult Conference) and the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC)
- Parish/deanery consultations on young adult ministry
- Presentations on young adult issues and ministry
- Workshops at diocesan conferences upon request
- Support for parish/deanery programs for young adults
- Facebook group for young adults (“DOY-YAM”) with resources, event information and connections for YA’s
- YAM e-updates (electronic news for young adults)
- Connections to state, regional, national and international events for young adults and those who minister with them
Goals of Catholic Youth Ministry
- Empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.
- Draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.
- Foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.
